SYSTEM MAKES IT EASY
Our team at Tank Pro Inc. has developed a water tank mixing system, known as Blue Fusion, that helps eliminate thermal stratification more effectively. The Blue Fusion design has been verified to be an efficient thermal mixer and implements fine bubble aeration diffusers in both small and large water tanks.
Water storage tanks can be quite large and can hold anywhere from 100,000 gallons to 10 million gallons of water or more. It is not uncommon for small amounts of sediment in the treated water to collect at the bottom of the tank, and over time it can accumulate to a large amount of particulate. This is what makes water tower mixing systems so important. Accumulation is a potentially serious issue, especially for potable water. In addition to sediment accumulation, high temperatures can lead water towers to become a public health threat through thermal stratification. The warm summer heat can lead to distinct temperature layers in the water towers, which correlates to higher residual disinfectant loss, and higher biological growth- such as pathogens.

When the build-up of this sediment occurs, or warmer environments have left tanks susceptible to chlorine depletion, it’s almost necessary to mix water from the bottom of the water tank to the top. Blue Fusion’s patented tank mixing system continuously blends the cooler water from the bottom of the tank through the thermocline and into the warmer water above. This process decreases water age and DBP formation. With blended water from the blue fusion mixing system, the thermocline is eliminated by mixing all water inside the tank, reducing DBP’s and improving overall water quality.
